Putin talked on Karabakh during a meeting with Ilham Aliyev.
Russia will continue to do its best to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According to Eurasia Diary, it was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Beijing on April 26.
V.Putin said: "Honorable Ilham Aliyev, Dear friends! I'm glad to see you. We already had the opportunity to talk briefly with each other in the halls. I am happy to have the opportunity to talk with you in a wider audience. We regularly meet with you, within the range of possibility to share ideas, compare our positions, and also adjust our work together. Our joint work, in my opinion, is very good at the same time."
He emphasized that the trade and economic relations between the two countries are developing: "Even in fact, at your initiative, we have created an almost specific interoperability mechanism in the trade and economic sphere. I think this initiative is developing well. Later we’ll ask our colleagues from Russia and Azerbaijan to speak about it. But we are happy to develop our relations as a whole. I am sure that today we will talk about all aspects of our interaction with you. I am very glad to see you. "
As for trade, the Russian president said that last year the trade turnover between the two countries increased by almost 14 percent and reached $ 2.5 billion: "There are many common issues on the international agenda. We have agreed that in August we will hold the next Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran summit in Russia. So we’ll talk about it. "
The Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was discussed at the meeting. Putin said that Russia will continue to work to resolve the conflict as a Minsk Group co-chair country.
