Johnny Depp and the other members of his LA supergroup aka The Hollywood Vampires have taken on the David Bowie epic ‘Heroes’. Take a listen to the recording which took place in the same Berlin recording studio Bowie laid the original track.
The band, which features Depp on vocals also includes Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. This version of ‘Heroes’ was recorded at the famous Hansa Studios in Berlin. The studio was the setting for the original 1977 Bowie recording of the track.
The cover of the ‘Heroes’ will find a place on the Hollywood Vampires’ upcoming new album, Rise. Due for release on June 21st the album will also feature the singles ‘Who’s Laughing Now’ and ‘The Boogieman Surprise’.
“[It’s] not only a totally different animal than the first Vampires album, it is unique to anything I’ve ever been a part of,” Cooper recently said of the band’s new album. “I think that with this album, we are establishing what the Vampires’ sound really is, whereas with the first album we were more tipping our hats to our fallen rock n roll brothers.”
The cover comes complete with a brand new video of the recording to watch along. Take a look at the Hollywood Vampires covering David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ below.
