An extensive event dedicated to the exposure of Armenia’s ethnic cleansing and occupation policy against Azerbaijan has been held in Los Angels, in one of the largest Jewish synagogue of US, in Nessah, Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.

The event attended by about 400 participants, as well as religious figures, the heads of various Jewish organizations, journalists, scientific and cultural figures, university professors, diplomats of foreign countries has held with initiative and support of Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles.

The presentation of Garabagh realities objectively in Los Angels where live half millions of Armenians and that Nikol Pashinyan named as the capital of “Armenian diaspora” has concerned local Armenian lobby. However, the attempts of the Armenian lobby to prevent the event have failed.

Chairman of the Azerbaijani Community of the Nagorno Garabagh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tural Ganjaliyev, members of community Gulmammad Mammadov and Khojali witnesses Durdana Aghayeva and Jeyhun Alakberov has attended the event.

Final words of the Azerbaijani anthem have been jointly sounded by all participants of the event that began with national anthems of Azerbaijan, the USA, and Israel.

Delivering a speech in the event, Synagogue's Chief Rabbi David Shofet, heads of Synagogue Isaac Yomtovian and Ashe Eshagpur, as well as Susan Azizzadeh. President of the IAJF noted all nations’, as well as Jews’ free and peaceful cohabitation and full freedom of religion in Azerbaijan,  is very laudable in the background of ongoing conflicts among religions in the world and increasing Antisemitism and racism in various countries and expressed their gratitude to the President and nation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Following Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, Nasimi Aghayev stressed that multiculturalism is successfully conducted today as a state policy under the wise leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijan’s tolerance is a nice example for the entire world.

N. Aghayev gave broad information about Armenia’s invasion and ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijan and highlighted that the injustice still continues today. The diplomat stated that Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Garabagh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan has visited Los Angeles in order to inform US society about the occupation and wild violation of basic human rights of internally displaced Azerbaijani people by Armenia and it is their first visit abroad as a Community.

Then delivering a speech Tural Ganjaliyev, Gulmamad Mammadov and Durdana Aghayeva shared their own and family members’ suffering as a result of Armenian aggression, the atrocities such as destruction or sales of the houses belonging to IDPs in the occupied territories, complete destruction or humiliation of our historical, religious and cultural monuments, cemeteries.

The event has been welcomed by participants. Attendees condemned the injustice against Azerbaijan and expressed gratitude for the information they received on the issue.
