Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk will host a summit of heads of governments of GUAM member states in Kyiv: the arrivals of the prime ministers of Moldova, Georgia and Azerbaijan are expected. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, Eurasia Diary reports citing 112 International.
"The Summit of the Heads of Governments of the Member States of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM will take place in Kyiv on December 12, 2019. The objective of the event is a public-private partnership in the implementation of GUAM's key trade and transportation promotion projects," the statement informed.
A delegation led by Prime Minister Georgy Gakharia will arrive from Georgia. Prime Minister Ion Kiku will be representing the delegation from Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmedov will direct the delegates from Azerbaijan.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine replaced Moldova as the leader of Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM). The press service of Moldova's Ministry for Foreign Affairs and European Integration informed about this.
Foreign ministers of the four-member countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia and Moldova) held a session in Milan, where the ceremony took place.
"I am convinced that the tradition within the GUAM frameworks, which aims to work based on consensus, will let the member countries continue a fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation on both the regional and the international level," Tudor Ulianovsky, Moldovan Foreign Minister stated.
