Syrian President Bashar Assad said that the United States has several thousands soldiers in Syria, not several hundred soldiers, Eurasia Diary reports citing Vestnik Kavkaza.
"The U.S. relies heavily on private military companies akin to Blackwater in this war. So even if they have several hundred American soldiers in Syria, they still have several thousands - maybe even tens of thousands of civilians working for these PMCs and fighting in Syria," the Syrian president said.
"Therefore, the exact figure is difficult to establish, but it is definitely several thousand people," Sputnik cited
