On the occasion of the extraordinary parliamentary elections, the Mexican deputy and President of the Mexico-Azerbaijan Friendship Group, Agustín García Rubio, came to Baku. In addition to observing the parliamentary elections of February 9th, the legislator will hold meetings with Azerbaijani authorities in order to discuss the current state of ties between both countries and the prospects for cooperation in various sectors.
It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Mexico and Azerbaijan were established on February 10th, 1992. The diplomatic representations of Azerbaijan and Mexico began their activities in 2007 and 2014, respectively. Inter-parliamentary ties, meanwhile, are of great importance for the development of bilateral cooperation. In this context, it is underlined the role of the activities of the respective Inter-parliamentary Work Groups that operate within the legislative bodies of both States.
