Baku City Executive Power (PMPC) responded to a request by Musavat, REAL parties, D18 movement and independent candidates to hold a rally in the capital.
Eurasia Diary reports that the application was filed 4 days before the deadline, in accordance with current legislation, to be submitted 5 days in advance. This also means that the current legislation is in breach of the law and provides a basis for the appeal. Therefore, it was not considered appropriate by the department to consider the matter in accordance with the legislation.
"The Baku City Executive Office has revised the issue, taking into account the wishes of the applicants.
We inform you that the planned rally will cause impact on the metropolitan and subways areas as well as creating problems for the free movement of other people who do not attend the meeting. Alternatively, we offer to hold the rally on February 16, 2020 from 15:00 to 17:00 at the Neftchi Sports Club Public Union's Garadag training base, 28 May, Lokbatan, Garadag district," the report says.
