Armenia’s Ministry of Defense and Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation signed an agreement on upgrading and reconstructing Su-25 jets, Eurasia Diary reports citing Armenian media.
The agreement was signed in the sidelines of the Army 2020 international military-technical conference.
The document was signed by Armenia’s deputy defense minister Makar Ghambaryan and deputy marketing director of the Russian company Ilya Tarasenko.
It should be noted that Spokesperson for the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Maria Vorobyeva said to TASS that Russia intends to sign a number of arms supply contracts with Armenia at “Army 2020” forum.
“Making use of the opportunity to see our partners face-to-face, which is so valuable in these times, we intend to sign a number of contracts, in particular with Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia,” she said.
Maria Vorobyeva has clarified that “the contracts will concern both delivery of finished products and maintenance of the previously supplied products.”
