"It is impossible to achieve a ceasefire unilaterally" - Ilham Aliyev

"I have always said that a ceasefire cannot be achieved unilaterally."
 
Eurasia Diary reported, the statement came from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Japan's Nikkei newspaper on October 21. 
 
"If we are attacked, we must not only defend ourselves, but also carry out counterattack. I can tell you that after they violated the ceasefire for the second time, we liberated the city of Zangilan and many villages. Therefore, the Armenian government must seriously consider its behavior and, if it wants the ceasefire to be effective, firstly, not to violate the ceasefire, and secondly, not to try to retake  liberated territories and must take on a serious commitment to leave  the occupied Azerbaijani territories. . "
