During the “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” show, President of Russia Vladimir Putin has talked about Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Eurasia Diary reports.
Putin explained that Azerbaijan had launched the war against Nagorno-Karabakh and the battles took place in that territory, but Yerevan never recognized Nagorno-Karabakh.
“From the perspective of international law, this means that Nagorno-Karabakh and its territory have been and still are a part of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Putin stated, adding that since there was no military aggression against the territory of Armenia, Russia and the CSTO weren’t entitled to be involved in the conflict.
Putin also emphasized that Yerevan had an opportunity to sign a ceasefire agreement back in October. Putin had convinced Aliyev to stop the war, but Pashinyan claimed that the hostilities needed to continue.
