US-based International Conflict Resolution Center (ICR Center) representatives visited Azerbaijan, Eurasia Diary reports citing APA.

Their main goal was to collect information and inform the world community about the damage caused to Azerbaijan as a result of the Armenian occupation and attacks by the Armenian armed forces on civilian objects and the civilian population of our country during the Second Karabakh war.

Within the visit, the representatives of the International Conflict Resolution Center  Christopher Chambers and Austin Clayton held a number of meetings with representatives of government and non-governmental organizations. Moreover, within the framework of their visit to Azerbaijan, specialists visited the city of Ganja, which was shelled from the Armenian side, then the Terter district and the Aghdam region liberated from occupation.

Christopher Chambers and Austin Clayton witnessed the destroyed settlements, cemeteries, historical and cultural monuments. The guests visited Tartar district, where they got acquainted with the damage to buildings where internally displaced persons live, the private residential and office buildings. They also were informed about the wounded and killed as a result of the shelling by the prohibited rockets fired by the Armenian armed forces in the city. 

Then, foreign experts who visited the Aghdam Juma Mosque included in the list of the most important monuments of our country noted that the minarets were demolished from the inside, the ceiling was blown up in several places, the design and inscriptions were deliberately damaged. American guests also visited the Alley of Martyrs at Aghdam region and the completely destroyed Aghdam State Drama Theater, once the famous Tea House, the Bread factory.

The International Conflict Resolution Center board member, professor of Georgetown University Christopher Chambers noted in his interview: “It is horrible to see the consequences of targeting places where civilians live and children play. The war must be fought at the front. It is wrong to attack at such a big distance from the front line. As an American, I consider it my duty to tell the whole world about what happened here. The Aghdam reminds me the ruins of ancient Pompeii. Through sometimes humans can be worse then volcanoes...".

It should be noted that the facts and information about the damage caused as a result of the attack by the Armenian armed forces, collected by the International Conflict Resolution Center representatives will play an important role in bringing the truth to a wide audience, to the entire world community.

“I saw the results of what happened here, collected specific information and facts. I will try to bring everything that has happened here internationally and, most importantly, to the public in my own country”- said Austin Clayton, another employee of The International Conflict Resolution Center.
