Russia sees a solution to the conflict on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border in launching the process of border delimitation with its subsequent demarcation. This is stated in a commentary by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Azeri Daily reports.
'We presume that all such incidents should be resolved exclusively by peaceful, negotiated means. We see the launch of the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border with its subsequent demarcation as a long-term solution. The Russian Federation is ready to continue in every possible way to contribute to the consistent normalisation of the situation in the South Caucasus,' says the message.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Russia is closely monitoring the situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and maintains operational communications through the military and border services.
'We continue to closely monitor the situation related to the border incident between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Russian side provides assistance to Baku and Yerevan in reducing tensions through regular contacts at the highest and high levels. Operational ties are maintained between the military and border services of our countries,' indicated the Ministry.
