The Georgian scenario could happen in the Russia-Ukraine war. 

This was stated by Sebastian Schäffer, expert for Eastern and Central Europe, while commenting on Zelenski's statement that he was ready for dialogue with Russia on the issue of Donbass and Crimea. 

"There is certainly a possibility that such a scenario would occur, but I cannot see at the moment how Putin would negotiate with Zelenskyy, as he has repeatedly made absurd claims that Ukraine needs to be denazified. Additionally it is currently hard for me to imagine what a future relationship between Ukraine and the Russian Federation would look like, given the heinous atrocities committed by the Russian army against Ukrainian civilians". 

It should be noted that Ukrainian President Volidimir Zelenskyy in an interview with ABC TV channel said that he is ready for dialogue with Russia on the issue of Donbass and Crimea. Some experts imagine that Zelenskyy could make any concession on these issues in favor of Russia.

It is also speculated that the Georgian scenario could happen in the Russia-Ukraine war. Although the Russian army has occupied South Ossetia and Abkhazia, the negotiations between Russia and Georgia still continue on the future fate of these separatist regions in the framework of the Geneva format.
