Umud Mirzayev: "It will be no trace of separatists in Karabagh" – COMMENTARY

Politics 16:01 14.03.2023
As we reported, the separatist regime in Khankendi said "no" on behalf of the Armenians to the proposal of the Presidential Administration to hold the next meeting with the Armenian population of Karabakh in Baku. The separatists said that they want the meeting to be held only through the mediation of Russian peacekeepers and to discuss humanitarian, infrastructure and technical issues.

Umud Mirzayev, the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, who shared his views on the meeting with Ednews, said that 30 years ago, the people who caused the conflict, the big war, destruction, and acts of vandalism in the region were these separatists.

"Even today, they are not interested in ending the conflict with peace. They try to prevent the end of the conflict using all the possibilities. The skirmishes, provocations on the border, indirect transport of weapons to Khankendi and Karabakh, and the forces that keep the population under pressure are precisely the separatists. It was expected that they said "no" to the meeting initiative proposed by the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Such a meeting means the end of the separatist forces.

U. Mirzayev added that they are aware of this. I think the meeting will take place in the future.

"Azerbaijan is motivated to be strong and to be an interested party in the solution of the problem, so that we show patience in such moments. Among the ethnic Armenian population living in Khankendi, there are enough people who are aware of the situation. They are also interested in solving the problem. As soon as the issue is resolved, calmness and peace will come to their homes. In a very short time, there will be no trace of the separatists in Karabakh. It was time to run out of obstructionist forces. Let's be patient."

It should be remained that on March 13, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan invited the representatives of the Armenian public of Karabakh to a second meeting to discuss the issues of continuing contacts related to reintegration, as well as the implementation of infrastructure projects in Karabakh. The Armenian separatists said “no” to this proposal of the Administration and asked for it to be held in the territory under the protection of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, as in the first meeting.

It should be noted that the separatists claimed that the "Karabakh conflict" still exists and that "law and security of the Armenian population can be possible if there are international guarantees".
