The Azerbaijani Embassy in Moldova has arranged a commemorative event to mark the 34th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy.
The ceremony started with a minute of silence for victims of the 20 January tragedy. The participants put flowers in front of the corner dedicated to the memory of the victims of the tragedy, Ednews informs.
Embassy diplomats, Azerbaijanis living in Moldova, as well as students attended the commemorative event.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev said that 20 January is a day of remembrance and pride. "The first political and legal assessment of the 20 January tragedy was given by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Memory of all martyred heroes will live forever in the hearts of every Azerbaijani.
