In a hearing at the International Court of Justice held in The Hague today, Professor Pierre D'argent, an expert in international law, presented contentious assertions on behalf of Armenia regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
According to Ednews, Professor D'argent argued, "The Azerbaijani side claimed that no violence was committed against ethnic Armenians, regardless of whether they were civilians or not. The Azerbaijani army committed violence against Armenians living in Karabakh during the war."
Contrary to Dargent's claims, the Second Karabakh War resulted in significant territorial gains for Azerbaijan without engaging in military violence against Armenia.
The conflict, which primarily unfolded between Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, saw military operations leading to the displacement of ethnic Armenians. However, Azerbaijan's objective was to regain control of its territories, rather than targeting Armenia itself.
