Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanani said on Monday that Iran's "effective support for the Palestinian nation" will not be disrupted by the sudden death of President Ebrahim Raisi earlier this month. "Supporting the Palestinian nation is a moral duty and an international responsibility," he said.
Ednews reports that, Kanani added that talks with the United States aimed at lifting sanctions against Iran are still ongoing. Iran has been engaged in negotiations to revive the Iran nuclear deal or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with the Biden administration since 2021 after then-United States President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the agreement in 2018.
