The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Israel held an event dedicated to May 28 - Independence Day of Republic of Azerbaijan, Ednews informs, citing the embassy.
Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Israel took part in the event held in Tel Aviv.
Mukhtar Mammadov, the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Israel, opened the event with an introductory speech and spoke about the achievements of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which was founded in 1918, and the multicultural environment that exists in Azerbaijan.
He informed the participants about the work done by the country's leadership to date for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, the martyrs who sacrificed their lives so that the Azerbaijani flag would wave in every part of the country, and the visionary policy implemented by President Ilham Aliyev in the political, economic, military, social and humanitarian fields.
