Mehman Huseynov is a blogger and journalist in prison addresses appeal to media.
We are presenting the context of the appeal:
"I have been jailed for 22 months already. During the course of my penalty, I tried to do no harm to anyone. I would not want my current appeal to disrupt someone's mood.
Recently, according to information that I heard by my fellows, one of the social network users at night said that my condition had become critical and it was an emergency situation which needs medical treatment. This information has caused serious concern for my father and close friends. I think everyone should bear responsibility for what he or she writes and does. But people's senses should always be taken into account. I would also like to note one thing: I'm not responsible for what my elder brother Emin does or doings of people who want me and doesn't want me. I would like to bring to the attention of those who want me that I feel good, I eat and to be restored after the hunger strike. I expect that the criminal case about me will be fair. I express my gratitude to you for sending me my message in advance. "
Huseynov was sentenced to two years in prison upon the decision of the Surakhany District Court on 3 March 2017. The decision was made on the basis of a complaint filed by the head of the Nasimi district police department, Musa Musayev, as a special charge. The blogger is charged under article 147.2 (defamation, coupled with the accusation of a person for committing a grave or especially grave crime) of the Criminal Code.
On 27 December 2018, IRFS reported that Huseynov had been charged with "resisting a representative of the authorities with the use of violence dangerous to his health and life".
