A meeting of community members and representatives of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform was held at the office of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh, Eurasia Diary reports.
The head of the Azerbaijani community, Tural Ganjaliyev, spoke about the pain of the Azerbaijani residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, who were forced to leave their homes, and their ardent desire to return to their homes. Tural Ganjaliyev noted the desire and readiness of the internally displaced persons of Azerbaijan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, but at the same time - their ability to defend their lands at the price of blood. Tural Ganjaliyev noted that the arrival of brave people in Baku who were not afraid of threats from the Armenian lobby can be regarded as the basis for future human relations between the Azerbaijani and Armenian diasporas. "Only such persons can deliver the truth about what is what and who is who. Maybe, such persons can convey the concept of Evil and Good to ordinary people lives in Armenia and Karabakh. Today people who are in the barricades understand necessity of the recognition of Azerbaijani border integrity, start of friendship and holding relations again." He also said the representatives of the Azerbaijani community are ready to go to Karabakh by the initiative of peace and urged the Armenian authorities and representatives of the Armenian community of Karabakh to support this initiative and to ensure the start of the dialogue.
Erik Khachaturov, a member of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Civil Peace Platform, spoke about his position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying that thousands of Armenians who had to leave Azerbaijan considered here as their homeland and wished to return to their previous lives in a peaceful and friendly neighborhood. He noted that the separatist policy in Armenia, the anti-Azerbaijani nationalist propaganda and falsification of historical truths have an impact on the consciousness of the younger growing generation. That is why Erik Khachaturov took his son and his wife in this visit to see that the anti-Azerbaijani propaganda was biased when the young people saw the development of Azerbaijan, the openness and hospitality of indigenous people. He called on the unification of the political will of the two countries for the peaceful settlement of the 30-year conflict and the common ideas of the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples.
Speaking about the tasks of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform, Dilara Efendiyeva talked about the initiatives for supporting the peaceful settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and in order to achieve a "peace agreement" it is needed to eliminate the factor of aggression between the two countries. Members of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh Khatira Valiyeva, Gulnar Alakbarova, Ahmed Mahmudov and Narmina Badalova also shared their views on the peaceful settlement of the conflict and the desire of all IDPs to return to their homes. They noted that they live in the neighborhood where they shared their joy and grief, and grew up in an equally welcoming land. And they said that the two friendly people separated only a long period of political confrontation.
