An event dedicated to the celebration of the New Year and the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis was held at the vocational training centre of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) in Terter.
The event organised within the framework of the project "Establishment of Community Rehabilitation Centres for Children with Disabilities" jointly implemented by the IEPF, the Red Crescent Society of Tartar and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Azerbaijan.
According to Eurasia Diary, head of the executive power in Terter region Mustagim Mammadov, deputy head Elvin Umudov, teacher working in the framework of the ongoing project Gumru Salimova, representatives of the IEPF, the Red Crescent and the rehabilitation centre for children, volunteers of the “Azerbaijan Youth Advocacy Program” being implemented by IEPF and UNICEF Azerbaijan, Red Crescent volunteers and parents of children took part in the event.
Delivering a speech, the head of the Executive Power, representatives of the Red Crescent and Gumru Salimova expressed gratitude to the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev for the support provided in the framework of the project. They emphasised that thanks to the ongoing project, several children with disabilities could improve their intellectual knowledge and abilities.
These children also attended the event.
The entire entertainment programme was held in a cozy atmosphere, with the performance of poems, dances, congratulations and sweets.
During the celebration, children from the Terter region of Azerbaijan were presented with gifts, including those prepared by the Red Crescent, as well as students of the British school in Baku as part of a charity campaign. Each gift was collected individually and was personally signed by the sender.
This is not the first charity campaign organised jointly by the IEPF and the British School in Baku. On March 30, the Fund organised a large charity event for children in the Terter region of Azerbaijan, with the participation of specially invited guest Philipp Roche, who represents the school.
This time, the organisers of the event that is celebrated on the occasion of the New Year and the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis from all over the world, decided to arrange a small surprise for children from the war-affected region of Azerbaijan, showing that they remember them and wish a happy holiday, and also remind that working with them will be actively continued.
