When hearing a word of Armenia or Armenians in the geography, it is important to search the location through the google map. It is because the view of this country’s territory may give you more ideas of its historical background. However this is not about to look down or to humiliate a population in the world that some time in recent history has occupied a space on earth. It is about recognising the territory of a real nation in the history of ancient lands.
While obviously we can see Armenia is located in the middle of the two Turkic speaking countries, the first idea that comes in mind is how this minor nation could pop in the middle of this vast territory of the Turks slashing this it into two. Perhaps Turks should have been more cautious from Armenians than Romans or Mongols in the history.
In a video recording an English speaking tourist speaks of Armenian history and presents bizarre names of some monuments as though belonging to Armenians. The strangest fact was when the tourist pointed an art sign with digits on the square of the capital city of Azerbaijan’s Irevan or de-facto Yerevan, according to Armenians. I would like not to digress from the topic but hearing lies after lies in the video teases your brain and you find no word to respond it.
Irevan Castle. 1796
In fact, when Armenians occupied Irevan Khanate in the early XX century with support of the Russian empire, they changed the name from Irevan to Yerevan and then declared it a capital of so called Armenia on July 19 1918.
So, it means Armenians today, should celebrate 102 anniversary of declaring themselves a nation on part of a land, where it never belonged to them. As regards the art sign presenting digits of 2800, the tourist interpreted it as indicating the age of Armenia as if going 2800 years back in history. A ludicrous historical claim of Armenians shamelessly intrudes the world history, in which it says its roots are 29 years older than Romans. This ridiculous historical information before the eyes of the world shows that Armenians have good sense of humours, indeed. When explaining the meaning of the capital city, the tourist spells Yerevan as Eribuni while no doubt that it is Irevan of Azerbaijan.
