Today, ADA University hosted an event dedicated to April 4 - International Mine Awareness and Mine Action Day.
According to Eurasia Diary, the discussions have been attended by Aide to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev and foreign ambassadors to Azerbaijan.
Vice-rector of the university Fariz Ismayilzadeh said the event was of great importance.
Hikmet Hajiyev noted that Armenia has not provide Azerbaijan with a map of mines in the liberated territories violating international law.
Charu Bist, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, stressed the successful cooperation between the UN and Azerbaijan in the field of demining.
At a briefing on the occasion of Mine Action Day, ANAMA Deputy Chairman Samir Poladov spoke about the work done by ANAMA in the field of mine clearance during its existence.
Speaking at the event, Asif Ahmadov, a resident of Fizuli, said that on November 14, 2020, a mine fell on the pasture, where he was normally engaged in farming, his brother was killed and he lost his left leg. He called on the civilian population not to go to the mined areas, emphasising that it was very dangerous.
The event continued with speeches of participants.
