Peace through Agriculture: - Heidi Kuhn made a call to the people of Marin to join in the "Mines to Vines" mission

On the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Roots of Peace (1997-2022) we honour Earth Day with a call to the people of Marin to join us in our "Mines to Vines" mission of building sustainable peace through agriculture in war torn lands.

According to Ednews, for the past quarter of a century, Roots of Peace has removed landmines from the post-conflict soil of Angola, Afghanistan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Iraq, Israel, Palestine and Vietnam. In the process we have planted 6 million fruit trees worldwide and worked with local communities to provide food security, distribution, carbon credits, and more. We are building a sustainable peace through agriculture.

Despite the recent challenges, Roots of Peace has planted over 1.1 million fruit sapling trees in Afghanistan in Spring 2022 alone. With the tragedy unfolding in Ukraine, we now look to remove the remnants of war and support farmers as they revive their lands amidst this unjust conflict.

From our world headquarters in Marin County, we welcome you to join us as we strive to Plant the Roots of Peace.

Besides that, the story of Roots of Peace and CEO/Founder Heidi Kuhn is available in the book BREAKING GROUND: From Landmines to Grapevines, One Woman's Mission to Heal the World, available now at Book Passage.

Please join us as we take ‘Footsteps for Peace by generously donating: www.rootsofpeace.org/donate
