Today, the public discussion was held on the topic "Great return to homelands" under the initiative of the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum, the International Eurasia Press Fund, the Fund of Assistance to the Development of Entrepreneurship and Market Economy, and the organization of the Public Council and the Public Control Center under the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
President of IEPF Umud Mirzayev, President of Azerbaijan National Non-Governmental Organizations Forum Rauf Zeini, President of Fund of Assistance to the Development of Entrepreneurship and Market Economy Sabit Bagirov, Member of the Council of the State Support for NGOs Anar Khalilov, the official of the State Committee for Refuges and IDPs Sanan Huseynov, Al Jazeera Media Network's well-known journalist Muhammad Gulam Bouba and other official representatives participated in the meeting.
Ednews informs that at the event, the spirits of the martyrs who died for the sovereignty of the country were commemorated with a minute of silence.
Rauf Zeyni, President of the Azerbaijan National Non-Governmental Organizations Forum, who delivered the opening speech, said that our lands had been liberated from occupation as a result of the progressive policy of our Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Later, Umud Mirzayev, President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, spoke about the importance of the "Great Return".
"Thankfully, our worst days stayed in past. Our return to the homeland, which we ever dreamt, came true. Currently, construction works are being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation. I should note that the relevant institutions and organizations related to the issues of Refugees and IDPs have also been mobilized," he said.
Sabit Bagirov, President of the Fund of Assistance to the Development of Entrepreneurship and Market Economy, said that the number of meetings have been organized with the participation of hundreds of internally displaced persons and refugees.
He also emphasized that the number of those who want to return is too high, and more than 100 thousand refugees and internally displaced people want to live again in their homeland.
The official of the State Committee for Refuges and IDPs, Sanan Huseynov noted that 25 families have been resettled in Agali village. He also informed about the meetings organized with the population of Zabukh and Sus villages.
During the event, the issue of mining of liberated territories by Armenians has been also touched upon. Thus, Anar Khalilov, a member of the Council of the State Support for NGOs, said that the territories of the liberated lands are still dangerous. He has also touched on the water problem in Shusha and communication issues in the liberated areas.
Also IEPF President Umud Mirzayev stressed that it is still dangerous to visit the regions without a special authorities.
A representative of ANAMA, who took part in the discussion, said that the workers have been sent to the areas liberated from occupation have passed special training. ANAMA's specialist also said that around 210 million square meters of land has been cleared of mines.
