As a result of ongoing operations in the liberated territories, it has been determined that civilian lands, devastated settlements, cemeteries, gardens, around water sources, and other socioeconomically significant locations have been heavily contaminated with mines, said the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action, Ednews reports.
In the postwar period, 142 of the 290 people who were hurt by mine explosions died or suffered varying degrees of physical injuries as a result of such explosions that occurred in such areas.
