Presently, the friendly and trusting ties of cooperation and partnership of the State of Israel and this country represent a true and ideal model for most countries in the world. In the most difficult times, these countries have always been together, always had mutual support. One of the main reasons for this strong relationship is the human factor - a long and close fraternal friendship between Azerbaijanis and Jewish community living in Azerbaijan. Thus, the relationship in almost all fields of life between the two states is at a sufficiently high level.
Along with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in these relations there is also great merit and success of one of the architects of Israeli-Azerbaijani strategic partnership, Avigdor Lieberman.
Looking at the region of the Southern Caucasus, where Azerbaijan is located, it can be seen with an unaided eye that this country is in a very complex "geopolitical sandwich", where unpredictable and unordinary geopolitical actors such as Russia, Turkey and Iran are located. Despite this complex geopolitical labyrinth of the South Caucasus, Azerbaijan successfully pursues its multi-vector foreign policy and it manages to maintain stability in the country.
This was stated in the information and analytical program "Day" of the Ninth Israeli TV channel by the popular Israeli host Vladimir Rav-Tsion, the head of the Israeli non-governmental organization "International Projects for Society", and the well-known Israeli expert in the field of international relations, Aryeh Gut.
This year Azerbaijan celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. "In this regard, a military parade dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces will be held on June 26, 2018. The Defense Minister of Israel was among the guests invited by the Azerbaijani government. However after learning that the Defense Minister was invited to the military parade Iran Amir Khatami, Avigdor Lieberman canceled his trip. I think that in Azerbaijan, Lieberman's decision to postpone his visit to Baku is understood correctly and accepted with respect. Israel has always been an important strategic partner for Azerbaijan. I reckon that a balanced political decision was made by the Israeli Defense Minister.
The expert stressed that considering the complicated geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus region, and also taking into account our situation connected with Hamas, around the Gaza Strip, with the situation in Syria, we do not want to meet with the Iranian Defense Minister.
