Arsene Wenger offered stunning return to Premier League management

Arsene Wenger rejected the chance to become Fulham manager after the club decided to sack Slavisa Jokanovic.

The Cottagers sacked Jokanovic this morning and announced in the same statement that they had hired former Leicester City boss Ranieri.

Wenger is yet to return to management since leaving Arsenal at the end of last season and he’s been surprised at the lack of offers from top European clubs.

However, Fulham quickly identified Wenger as their number one choice to replace Jokanovic but the Frenchman rejected the opportunity out of his respect to Arsenal, according to the Mirror.

Wenger has vowed not to manage another Premier League club and in any case would want a bigger club than Fulham.

The 69-year-old has rejected lucrative offers from China but is intent on returning to management after mulling over director roles.

Fulham sit bottom of the Premier League and are three points off safety.

Wenger contemplated quitting management after his 21 years in north London but he’s decided to continue and will wait for the right offer.
