Perisic has struggled at Inter Milan this season and, as a result, Arsenal are now trying to lure him away from the San Siro.
The Gunners made their first enquiry for the Croatia international over the weekend amid Unai Emery’s hunt for reinforcements.
Perisic impressed at the World Cup back in the summer and was previously on the radar of Manchester United.
It is Express Sport understanding, though, that the Red Devils are unlikely to make a move for Perisic on deadline day.
The 29-year-old’s future at Inter remains in limbo.
And Bolognanews.net claim the forward has asked to join Arsenal today.
The decision regarding his future now lies with Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti.
Spalletti would ideally like to offload Perisic and sign a replacement before today’s 11pm deadline.
But, if he is unable to, then Arsenal face missing out on the wing wizard.
Bolognanews.net say Perisic is expected to be in the squad for Inter’s showdown with Lazio tonight (8pm).
That, after he previously missed their 1-0 defeat to Torino on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has claimed Perisic is still wanted by the Gunners.
But he is not expected to be involved in a swap deal regarding Mesut Ozil, who has his admirers over at the San Siro.
“Swap deals are very, very difficult,” he said on the GB Transfer Show.
