The president of Ashihara Karate Federation Maarif Baghirov and other members and sportsmen who raced in Euroasia tournament that was held in Antalya, Turkey from 20 to 24 March, made a press conference in IEPF.
Eurasia Diary reports that in the opening of the press conference, president of IEPF and vice-president of Ashihara Karate Federation Umud Mirzayev and president of federation Maarif Baghirov began their speeches with speaking about the history of this type of Karate and sportsmen. In the meeting, vice-president of the federation Vusal Mammadli and sportsmen-trainer Farman Rahimov also participated. The federation president emphasized the achievements of athletes in the previous Eurasia Karate tournament.
It is important to notice that 200 athletes joint this championship from 20 countries. Azerbaijan was represented by 11 sportsmen in Antalya Eurasia Karate Championship and it is happy to report that all athletes won the medals there. Everyone returned to the country with 6 golds, 4 silvers, and 1 bronze medals. With this result, the team won first place in the ranking. Additionally, only one athlete among all countries, Azerbaijani athlete triple world champion, double Eurasia champion 24 years old Musazada Musa was awarded "the best technical fighter of the tournament" in Antalya. He got this nomination twice in his career.
The smallest fighter of Championship was 7 years old Asgarov Mohammed.
Then Federation President Maarif Baghirov answered the journalists' questions. He said that Ashihara Karate was spread widely around the world. He noticed that Japan did not participate in this Eurasia Championship although they participated in tournament which was held in Aktau, Kazakhstan. "The main reason of our glorious victory was the union of federation and athletes, and our coaches' care and attention" Maarif Baghirov said.
