The Arsenal boss’ comments that Mbappe could leave PSG comes after the French striker hinted about a departure from the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG comfortably won the league title and with one game remaining in the season they currently hold a 16-point lead over second-placed Lille.
On Sunday night Mbappe was named Ligue 1's player of the season and during his acceptance speech took the opportunity to say he wanted to be given "more responsibility", either at PSG or "elsewhere with a new project".
And Emery, who managed Mbappe for one season while boss at PSG, revealed this isn’t the first time the player has considered a move away.
The Arsenal boss said he had to convince the player to stay in Paris while he was managing the club.
"I spoke with his father to decide to stay in PSG," he explained to Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
