U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday in an interview with Fox News that his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama is possibly behind the ongoing protests against his administration.
When asked a question about whether Obama could be involved in organizing protests and demonstrations against his presidency across the U.S., Trump said that he thought Obama played a role.
"No, I think he is behind it, I also think it is politics, that is the way it is,'' Trump said.
"You never know what's exactly happening behind the scenes, you never know,'' the American president added.
Trump's comments come amid a battle with his critics and the media and as nationwide protests have steadily grown in the weeks since he was elected in November 2016.
The president reiterated his belief that the protestors marching in the streets and the demonstrators who are opposing his presidency are professional agitators.
Trump supporters are also organizing counter-demonstrations across the U.S. in solidarity with the 45th president.

The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!
