Activities at Supadio International Airport in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, have returned to normal following a roof collapse on Sunday (26/03).
The roof above the airport's boarding lounge collapsed at around 3 p.m., injuring five passengers.
"They were immediately treated and as their injuries were minor, they chose to board their flights," Angkasa Pura II corporate secretary Agus Haryadi told Jakarta Globe on Monday.
"We've recorded their names and address. I'll check with the Pontianak [office] to get a follow-up today," he said.
Angkasa Pura II is a state-owned operator of Supadio Airport and Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport — Indonesia's main hub.
According to Agus, Supadio Airport is still in maintenance and the responsibility for all damages will be on its contractor, state construction company Nindya Karya.
Supadio Airport has been expanding its capacity since 2011 to serve 3.8 million passengers a year. It is expected to be fully operational by May.
Angkasa Pura II has lately recorded several malfunctions at its ports. A similar incident at Supadio took place on March 21, while Soekarno-Hatta had its new Terminal 3 Ultimate flooded just days after it officially opened to public, and has since experienced several problems related to electrical installations.
