Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday and conveyed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s greetings, a TASS correspondent reported.
"We are always open for cooperation without Venezuelan friends. President Vladimir Putin extends his best wishes and his greetings," Lavrov said.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
In May, Putin congratulated Maduro on his reelection Venezuelan president and expressed confidence that he would continue efforts to develop relations of strategic partnership between the two countries
