491 non-combat losses were recorded in the Armenian army during the period of 2010 to 2018. However, a criminal case has been filed on 413 cases, 263 of which have ceased the investigation and a total of 88 cases have been passed.
The head of the Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens Assembly, Arthur Sakunts, announced this at a press conference on April 26.
According to him, the law enforcement agencies' method of work has not changed in the new Armenia, and investigations into the killings are still aimed at covering the crime. Sakunts, for example, described an investigation into the death of the soldier Arthur Kazarian. According to him, the investigation has "lost" the material evidence of the case, as well as the samples taken from Kazyrian body. The human rights defender urged the investigators to investigate who had been ordered to cover this crime.
