Chairman of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin supported the proposal to toughen the punishment for severe crimes, in particular, drug dealing and sexual abuse of minors, Eurasia Diary reports citing Zakon.kz.
Nigmatulin during the plenary session reminded that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his address to the nation this September ordered to tighten the punishment for sexual abuse, paedophilia, drug dealing, human trafficking, domestic violence against women and other crimes against persons, in particular, children.
The Speaker noted that the Parliament members supported the toughening of punishment for such crimes in the first reading.
