U.S. President Donald Trump said that Democrats in Virginia were "working hard" to take away Americans' Second Amendment rights, as thousands descended on the State Capitol in Richmond to attend a gun rights rally, Eurasia Diary reports citing Vestnik Kavkaza.
"I will never allow our great second amendment to go unprotected, not even a little bit!" the U.S. president wrote on Twitter.
Thousands of gun-rights advocates carried semi-automatic weapons through the streets of Virginia’s capital city during a major gun rights demonstration, calling for a repeal of newly-passed gun control measures. Protesters were chanting "We will not comply!" and chiding Virginia governor Ralph Northam after he declared a state of emergency over the Lobby Day rallies.
