Sudan's government has signed a peace agreement with the Sudan People's Liberation Movement – North (SPLM-N) armed group as part of a larger regional peace plan, Eurasia Diary reports citing Aljazeera.
The group has been fighting the government since South Sudan gained independence in 2011.
They have been demanding self-rule in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan regions bordering South Sudan.
