It has always been honour to recall the fact that the United Arab Emirates is one of the first countries, who recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Our countries share a lot in common: the size of the territory (both over 80 thousand sq km), the number of the population (both around 10 million) are nearly the same. The geographical location of our countries also makes us closer to each other.
Moreover, it is noteworthy that though at the current stage of the international relations trade and political interests come forward, but the bilateral ties of the UAE and Azerbaijan are much more precious than these interests. These relations are based, first of all, on mutual intention of brotherhood, strong moral values and wishing all the best to our peoples.
Every year on May 28 Azerbaijan celebrates the Republic Day. And the UAE leadership send their warm and sincere greetings and congratulations to President H.H. Ilham Aliyev. The Youth of both countries should always remember the cost our nations made to build our states. Our generations should pass to each other the support, our countries demonstrate to each other.
I’d like to emphasize, the UAE highly values the existence of such a great Republic in the Region as Azerbaijan, the UAE’s partner. We are in non-stop search for prospering our bilateral relations more and more, bringing benefit to our nations. As a result of the reciprocal high-level efforts and initiatives of our leaders and representatives of our Governments, these relations develop year-on-year. We can observe it particularly in tourism sector. I hope that, these indicators will go higher in the post-pandemic period. As the Ambassador, I am always ready to work jointly with the Azerbaijani side for the growth of the UAE-Azerbaijan bilateral relationship in all fields.
Taking this opportunity, I wish success to H.H. President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Parliament, Government, also peace and progress to all Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the Republic Day, as well as safety and good health in the context of a pandemic that has covered the entire world. I hope, the current crisis will soon fade away and our brotherly peoples will continue to visit each other.
