Armenia continues to commit terrorist acts against the civilian population, in flagrant violation of the norms and principles of international law, Azernews reports.
On October 6, Armenian armed forces fired cluster rocket to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline passing through Yevlakh region, the largest strategic project in the region that plays an important role in energy security of Europe, Prosecutor's General Office has reported.
"As a result of Azerbaijan Armed Forces decisive measures an attack was prevented and no damage to the pipeline was caused," the statement reads.
The missile landed 10 meters away from Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, with 300+ cluster bomblets eject around.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is a transport line for Azerbaijani oil from the Caspian Sea to the port of Ceyhan in Turkey, and then to European markets via the Mediterranean Sea.
The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline started in 2002 in Baku and the inauguration took place in 2006 in Turkey.
