Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation, the Kremlin press service reports.
The leaders discussed the state of emergency caused by forest fires in the southern regions of Turkey. They stressed the importance of cooperation between Russia and Turkey in combating this natural disaster.
Putin confirmed that Russia will continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Turkey in extinguishing forest fires. Erdogan thanked his Russian counterpart for his comprehensive support.
During the telephone conversation, Putin and Erdogan also touched upon topical issues of Russia-Turkey multifaceted cooperation. The results of the recent meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission were praised.
It was agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
