Ukraine's military deploys Bayraktar strike drone in Donbas for first time

The UAV hit a Russian cannon, which put an end to the artillery attack on Ukrainian positions

The Ukrainian military have deployed Bayraktar, the Turkey-made combat drone in Donbas combat area for the first time. The UAV destroyed a cannon of Russian mercenaries, reports press office of the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces.
"A battery of D-30 howitzers of Russian terrorist forces conducted an attack of positions of the Joint Forces in the area of Hranutne settlement. Two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were wounded during the shelling, one of them deceased", reads the message.
In order to suppress fire, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ordered to deploy Bayraktar. "The UAV did not cross the contact line and used a guided bomb to destroy one cannon... After that, the attacks on Ukrainian positions ceased", the General Staff concluded.
As is known, Master Sergeant of the Ukrainian military Heorhiy Khalikov deceased in Donbas combat zone on October 26. Press office of Poltava region's territorial centre of recruitment and social support confirmed that on Tuesday evening. The Ukrainian serviceman whose origins were in Poltava region was killed during a combat mission, as the Russian mercenaries landed an artillery strike on Ukrainian positions.
