On 26 November, the EU4Energy Governance project held the concluding stakeholder workshop dedicated to helping Moldova and Ukraine establish a joint electricity cross-border capacity allocation process. Representatives from national authorities, transmission system operators and Energy Community experts discussed the final deliverables and the next steps in the implementation process, EU news reports.
The EU technical assistance consists of a gap analysis of the existing provisions in the national legislation of both countries and recommendations on establishing the joint capacity allocation process between Moldova and Ukraine, including on arrangements between transmission system operators.
Improved capacity allocation is one of the preconditions for enhancing the efficiency of power system operation on the regional level and providing consumers with more accurate price signals while maintaining the security of energy supply.
