German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated on Saturday Moscow does not intend to change its position on Ukraine, following his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin the previous day, Teletrader reports.
Russia "has not achieved any of the goals mentioned at the beginning of the military operation" explained Scholz in an interview with the German media outlet T-online. The chancellor also noted that NATO forces have increased their presence on the eastern flank, adding the alliance would grow "stronger" in case Finland and Sweden decide to join.
On Friday, Putin and Scholz discussed the progress of peace talks between Kiev and Moscow, as they are currently "blocked" by Ukraine.
