Ukraine needs long-range weapons not only for offensive operations, but also for defensive operations, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a briefing in the Czech Republic, Ednews informs referring to RBC-Ukraine.
“Without long-range weapons, it is difficult not only to carry out an offensive mission. It is difficult, to be honest, to carry out a defensive operation. It is very difficult when you defend your land and cannot reach the appropriate distance to destroy the enemy,” he said.
He added that the Russian Armed Forces have a remote advantage. Therefore, long-range weapons are important for the implementation of defensive-offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, he said.
The president of Ukraine noted that relevant negotiations are underway with allies, primarily with the US, for the supply of long-range weapons.
