The First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Moscow rejected Alexey Navalny's appeal against his 19-years sentence for founding and supporting an "extremist" organization, TASS reported on Tuesday.
The verdict came into legal force instantly, despite the fact that, as Vedomosti said, Navalny "categorically denies his guilt." He will now be transferred from a strict regime colony to a colony with a special regime, which means that he will have fewer visits with his relatives and will receive packages less often.
Another defendant in this case is Daniel Kholodny, former technical director of one of Navalny's YouTube channels, who is also charged with financing "extremist activities" and participation in an "extremist community."
