An Iranian border guard has been killed in Saravan, the border city in southeastern Iran, during an armed conflict with terrorists, a provincial governor announced, Ednews reports citing Tasnim.
Saeed Tajlili, the governor of Saravan, told IRNA on Monday that the armed conflict occurred earlier in the day between the Iranian border guards and a terrorist group.
Mehdi Nouri was killed during the conflict and two other border guards were injured, Tajlili said noting that the injured are in good conditions.
Saravan in south of southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan is an Iranian border city near Pakistan.
