Armenia has refused to negotiate with the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), local farmer Harutyun Mnatsakanyan said, Ednews informs referring to Armenian media.
He noted that the problem with access of Armenian goods to Russia has political implications. If previously the Russian Federation turned a blind eye to Armenian products during inspections, now it carries out control in the same way as in relation to goods from other countries.
“Rosselkhoznadzor several times hinted to Armenia about the need to make a joint decision, but the Armenian side rejected these proposals, citing the fact that this was a manufacturer’s problem. Then the problem deepened, and now the authorities are trying to give a political connotation to all this and divert responsibility from themselves,” Mnatsakanyan noted.
“But how much damage will economic entities suffer during this time? You can’t treat such a large market as the Russian one in this way,” the farmer added.
He called for finding ways out of the situation.
