Hungary, the last Nato country not to have ratified Sweden's accession to Nato, is preparing to hold the vote on Monday, according to a request made on Tuesday by the ruling party. Ednews informs citing Le Figaro.
"I am asking the Speaker of Parliament to put the final vote on Sweden's accession protocol to the Atlantic Alliance treaty, which we intend to support, on the agenda for the 26 February session," said Mate Kocsis, leader of the Fidesz parliamentary group, on Facebook.
After months of procrastination, Prime Minister Viktor Orban had already given a favourable signal on Saturday during his State of the Nation address. "We are well on the way to ratifying the accession" of the Nordic country "at the start of the spring session of parliament", he said, referring to "important steps taken to rebuild trust".
