Yerevan's decision to withdraw Russian border guards from the Zvartnots airport is unlikely to meet Armenia's security interests, said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, Ednews informs.
"The statement was made by Armenia against the background of a number of unfriendly steps and statements of the official Yerevan. It is unlikely that such an initiative would meet the security interests of Armenia and its citizens," said Zakharova.
She noted that Moscow has seen the comments of the Armenian leadership on this issue: "As we understand, the corresponding notice was sent through the administrative line, but we have not received anything through diplomatic channels."
